About
12 years later... The original Simple Coin Flip - now completely rewritten using modern Android development practices. Still completely FREE (no-ads) and doesn't require any unsafe permissions. Now includes all 50 USA state quarters! Simply tap the question mark or shake and view the result. Tap the coin or shake to spin the coin again. Verify the flip algorithm is truly random by running the built-in Diagnostic Test and flipping the coin 100,000 times (or more) while watching the results in real-time. (Sorry, no cheating!) Open source code released to the public domain. Check it out here: https://github.com/banasiak/CoinFlip2 Quarter-dollar coin images from the United States Mint. Presidential $1 Coin images from the United States Mint. === What's New? === Exactly the same as before (almost), but completely rewritten using Modern Android Development (MAD) standards. Kotlin, coroutines, MVVM, Material 3 with dynamic colors. You know, all the cool stuff. Can you believe I still have the original code signing key for this app? Unfortunately, I'm not interested in Android Wear anymore, so no watch support. Sorry, but go buy a G-Shock and you'll be happier. Oh, and Google finally realized that having an official API for loading resources from any app installed on your phone was not great from a privacy perspective, so no more support for "add-on packs". If you bought the Simple Coin Flip Mega Pack in the past, I appreciate it. This new version has all 50 state quarters included for free.

Love the app. But really wish there was an option to choose the texts that shows for the coin flip. Instead of heads/tails, yes/no, do/don't.

I make all my majors decisions through this app. so far ahead seems to be the winner. most times. I went from living in a van down by the river, to a mansion in the hills. I love this app

WHO CARRY COINS ANYMORE? I think this was the thinking behind this app. It does a very good job of flipping a coin and showing you the results. Not quite a pari-mutuel result ... but, who cares? If you've got to make a true/false decision, this will help. There is some simple stuff the author could have added to make this worth 5 stars: Make the coin say true/false, or yes/no or buy/save. And, I would have liked a way to keep the coin spinning until I decided to stop it. I teach bus driving, and when I have two students, I use this app to help decide who's driving first. Sometimes I have up to four students. If this app would have permitted me to add the first names of the students I would have paid for the app.

It removes the need to make decisions. No ads, annoying monetization, or data collection. I wish there were more coin options. However. Considering the designers doing this free, I understand why there isn't any.

useful, simple little coin toss app

I've been using this app for years now. Maybe a 100,000 flips so far. It's simple, it's tiny, it's reliable. All you need in coin flip app. I wish we could change the faces a lot more but overall still loved it. But I get that that would add more bulk to the app.

Despite the simplicity of the app, it is clear that thought went into how the app feels. I like that it counts each tails and heads flips, and that it has some simple customization like removing the animation. I think it would be neat if there were a setting to display your largest streak of heads and tails.

Had to flip a coin today to determine if we full send a minor UI improvement to the Split Transaction Bottom Sheet without asking. Worked great, full_sending

Flippin' Fun! Simple. Effective. Love the options! Love the app! ¶ Since everyone is giving their suggestions, I have one: Optional sound effect of a coin rolling to a stop on a metal table. And if you're up to the challenge, display the coin wobbling to a stop! ¶ Thanks for your dedication! 🏆

Flawless. Plus, I like my simple apps that take only a few seconds to use to not have 30-second ads. Nice work!

Very convenient and you don't have to wait a few seconds like other apps. It just tells you heads or tails really quickly
